Frederick came to this country from Denmark in 1889. His parents were Neils Nielsen (b: 1846) and Rasmine Marie Rasmussen (b: ?). He had one brother, Waldemar Nielsen, who remained in Copenhagen.
After meeting and marrying Eliese Katherine Christensen (b: 10/4/1871 in Denmark), they settled in Clinton, Iowa.
They had two sons:
Manno Frederick Nelson (b. 7/11/1893, d. 10/7/1975)
Clarence Nelson (b. 1895 or 1897.., d. 10/23/1928)
Fred passed away on April 26, 1959, and was predeceased by his son Coxie, who died in 1928.
He is buried in Springdale Cemetery in Clinton, next to his wife Eliese and with his son Clarence (Coxie).
