James R Tapscott, 65, passed away Thursday afternoon at a local hospital. He had been a resident of this city for 43 years, and was well known. He was a faithful member of Central Christian Church as long as his health permitted, and taught a class in the Sunday school. He was married in Kentucky to May Alstott. To this union four children were born. One daughter, Jennie, preceded her father in death. He is survived by his wife, one son James A Tapscott, 821 N Clay Avenue, and two daughters, Mrs. George Day, 427 Morton Ave and Mrs. Robert Baptist, west of the city.
