Pioneer Joseph Baucom Dies at His Corralitos Home Last Night.
Joseph Baucom, an old and highly respected resident of this valley, who has been suffering for a number of years, passed away last evening at the ripe old age of 75 years. "Joe" Baucom and wife came to this valley from his native State of Tennessee in 1857 and has resided here ever since, most of the time at Corralitos. He was an honorable man in every sense of the word, caring but little for the riches of this world, but always striving to merit the good opinion of his neighbors and friends. This he certainly accomplished and the sincere sympathy of all his acquaintances goes out to the widow and family in this, their time of greatest affliction. For many years Mr. Baucom owned . . . Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Baucom, two of whom are dead. Those who remain are John Baucom and Mrs. J. Lee of San Jose, Sarah Baucom of Stockton, Edward Baucom of Palo Alto, Mrs. Fannie Mullen of Scotts Mill, Ore., Thomas, William, Charles and Joseph Baucom of this valley. The funeral will be held today at 10 o'clock, interment to be at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pajaronian.
