Aunt Virginia, was a proper lady, who cared for her family at all times. Her mother lived with them for years, until her death. She was the best fish cook I have ever known and her salmon was something we loved.

I will forever cherish the time I spent with her and Uncle Bob. Days at their house included walks, talk of history and family history, and just relaxing.

Virginia (she went by Virginia) was born to Albert Lee and Mary Etta Shamblin Cox. She was the youngest of eight children: Baby, Hoyt Walter, Dorothy M, Francis Pearl, Albert Challis, Murl Agnes, Bethene Ruth, and Virginia Lee.
Virginia married first, Cecil Dowdend in 1941. They had a daughter, Susan who was born and died in 1942 in Nampa, Idaho. They divorced shortly thereafter.
Virginia then married Robert Lee Brough 30 June 1944 and they lived in San Rafael where their son was born. In 1973 they moved to Boise, Idaho and they lived there until both of their deaths. They were married almost 55 years.
