NEWPORT - Elmer T. Fowler, 68, of Bybee, died Monday in a Jefferson City hospital. Fowler, who was known as "Bugg" by his friends, was a farmer and active in the Tennessee-Carolina Fair Association.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Fowler; daughter, Mrs. Steve Claiborne of LaFollette; two granddaughters; step-son, Tommy Strange of Bybee; brothers, D. N., A. S., C. H. and Leslie Fowler, all of Newport; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Manes Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Walker and the Rev. J. E. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
