Henry Edward Jones, 90, Battle Creek, Michigan, and formerly of Nelsonville, died Monday, May 7, 2001 at his home. Born August 30, 1910 at Nelsonville he was the son of George W. and Lula Bina Simmons Jones. He married Marjorie L. Brown August 31, 1934 at Hannibal. Mr. Jones was president and co-founder of the Union Electric, Inc., where he had worked for 19 years until his retirement in 1967. He had formerly worked as a electrician for Central Electric and Smith Sign Company. He attended Nelsonville and LaBelle High Schools and graduated in 1929 from LaBelle High School. He was a member of the National Plott Hound Association, Michigan Bear Hunters, Battle Creek Sportsman's Club, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, UCT (United Commerical Travelors) and the N.R.A. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, beekeeping, fishing and spent his 82nd birthday in the Northwest Territory on a successful Caribou hunt. He was a member of the Nelsonville Baptist Church in Nelsonville. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Lou Bishop and husband Roger, Delton, Mich.; a son, Robert "Gordon" Jones and wife, Emily, Ewing; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
