COL. N.B. WARD, a former and highly respected citizen of this city, died suddenly at the residence of his sister, MRS. SCOTT at Newberry on the 10th inst., while on a visit to her. After leaving this place COL. WARD took a position in a leading merchantile house at Spartanburg, in which city he resided for the past 25 years. He was never married.
COL. WARD was a member of Palmetto Lodge, A.F.M. , of this city at his death. His remains were met at the Depot here last Saturday by the membership and accompanied by a committee of the Brotherhood, consisting of H.W. ANDERSON, JAMES IRBY, J.W. FOWLER and DR. J.B. JONES to Spartanburg County.
