Joseph C. Balicki, 80, a Chicago resident for most of his life, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Our Lady of Resurrection Hospital in Chicago.
He was born in Poland.
He was employed by Wells and Gardner Electronics and St. Paul Federal Bank, retiring in 1986. He was a former member of the American Federation of Musicians, and he played the trumpet for various Chicago bands during his life. He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore (Marszalkowski) Balicki; three children, William (wife Susan) of Lockport, Brian (wife Fontaine) and John Balicki of Maryland; six grandchildren, Katie, Julie, Valerie, Natalie, Marielle and Devon; and a sister, Sophie (husband Joseph) Kuczek of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maryann (Bogucki) Balicki.
A Mass of Christian burial took place Friday, Dec. 28, at St. Dennis Church in Lockport.
Interment took place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
O'Neil Funeral Home in Lockport handled arrangements.
