Roxie Ann Mauldin Latimer (family story) Roxie Ann was the youngest of 12 children of Hayden and Louisa (Redwine) Mauldin. She was the last to marry; when she did, her mother, Louisa Rose Redwine Mauldin moved in with them. Roxie Ann had 11 children and her mother in the house, too, who by this time probably had dementia. So Christmas, 1912, is a big deal with relatives visiting; women cooking. Something happened (our Grandpa Bill Leatherwood, husband of Roxie's daughter, Georgia Ediss Latimer, always swore it was spoiled home canned pineapple) to cause food poisoning.
Louisa Redwine Mauldin died Dec. 24, 1912; her daughter, Roxie Ann Mauldin Latimer died 5 days later, Dec. 29, 1912.
