He was united in marriage to Ariel Wickesberg on November 16, 1932. They would have celebrated 72 years of marriage this year. Erben was employed by the Appleton Post-Crescent for a total of 51 years, serving as circulation manager for 33.
Erv will be remembered for his love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed working for and supporting his church in many capacities during his lifetime. Erv was a talented wood carver and loved sports, especially bowling and golf which he enjoyed well into his 90's.
Erben was a member of Calvary Bible Church of Neenah and was a member of the Post-Crescent 25 year Club.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Ariel; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and James Kimball of Appleton; sisters, Elsie Riesenweber and Evelyn Eickman, both of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Lois Krueger, Appleton; a step granddaughter, Linda (Richard) Kurrasch; four step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Erben was preceded in death by an infant daughter; brother, Willard Krueger; sister, Dorothy Lausman; a granddaughter, Judith Anderson; a grandson, David Kimball; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7th, at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oak Ridge Rd. Neenah, with Rev. Harry Shields officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. Erben will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
