Gladys Ann Cords was born on September 2, 1911, in Elkader to Philip J. and Hatti (Uecker) Cords. She attended rural schools in the Elkader and Monona area, and then graduated from Monona High School.

On April 7, 1937 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Robinson, to this union one child was born. They later divorced.

Gladys spent many years working on the farm on Swede Ridge, rural McGregor and then owned and operated the "Your Wish Beauty Salon" in McGregor. On March 22, 1974 she was united in marriage to Donald Bollman. She then joined Donald working at the B&P shop in Monona until their retirement to their home in Volney.

Gladys enjoyed sewing for family and friends up until a week before her death. She greatly enjoyed working in her yard and loved mowing and riding her lawn tractor.

Gladys died Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, following a brief illness.

She was survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, three sisters and two brothers.
