Fanny was the only child of Captain David Child and Kezia Brown Billings Child. Captain Child had twelve children by his first wife, Ruth Brown. He is said to have drowned in the White River, Vermont.

Fanny married Henry Martin Winsor in 1843, Perkinsville, Vermont. They had eight children:
Martin M. Winsor
Isaac M. Winsor
Emma (Amy) B. Winsor Nelson
Brock H. Winsor
Mercy M. Winsor Chamblin
Carrie Amelia Winsor Viles
Julia E. Winsor Knox
Henry Dyke Winsor.

The Winsor family moved from Vermont to Wisconsin to Muscotah, Kansas. Before 1880, Fanny's husband and oldest son left Muscotah and settled in the northern mountains of New Mexico. The reason for this move is unknown, but they did not move their families with them. Shortly before Fanny died in 1887, Henry M. returned to Kansas where he died.
