Rev. I. S. Maxey and Mrs. Maxey, together with their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest R. Maxey, returned yesterday from Greenville, Ill., where on Tuesday the burial of Mary Ellen Maxey, the former’s mother, took place in Maxey cemetery, near Pleasant Mound.
Mrs. Maxey was 74 years old, having been born February 15 1839. She died on her birthday anniversary. Old age and ailments incident to it, were the cause of her death. The only other child, Rev. A. S. Maxey of Georgetown, Ill., attended the funeral, which was in charge of Rev. John Ladue of the Free Methodist church of that place. Mrs. Maxey had often visited in Decatur and was well know here especially in Free Methodist church circles.
