STILLWATER, Okla. — Tressie Lola Surber, 99, died Nov. 24, 2010 in Stillwater, Okla. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Okla. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tressie was born on Jan. 12, 1911 to Fred and Armintie Ellen Henderson near Marena, Okla. She was married to William Thomas Surber in Guthrie, Okla. on Oct. 14, 1933.

She attended schools in Marena, Okla. and went on to complete her high school at home through the American School Program. She later went on to manage the kitchen for a Fraternity at Oklahoma State University as well as working in the kitchen of the Student Union as a chef preparing food for banquets and special events.

Tressie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Willie Mae Hall of Broomfield, Colo. and Ellen Marie Lett of Bellevue, Wash.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Cheryl, James, Suzanne, Jennifer, Frank, Carolyn, Deborah, Anthony, Timothy, Steve n and Michael.

There are sixteen Great Grandchildren and one Great-great Grandchild.
