Albert Franklin Wright

Albert Franklin Wright was born December 25, 1867 near Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life January 28, 1920, at the age of 53 years, one month, and three days.

He came to Iowa and to the vicinity of Allerton with his parents when a small child. Here he grew to manhood and lived in this neighboring vicinities till his death. He graduated from the Allerton High School in the class of 1888, and later spent two years at the Iowa State University. He taught school for a number of years and was also county surveyor for several years, but most of his life was spent on the farm.

He was married to Miss Bertha Holcomb, September 10, 1896. To this union were born five children, one child, Alberta Mae, dying in infancy. To the other children, Adelbert, Clement, Laurel, Hazel, his wife, his mother, and three brothers, Ellsworth of Lenox, Iowa, and John and Will of Allerton, Iowa, are left to mourn their loss.

Mr. Wright was a man who filled well his place in whatever line of activity he was engaged. When in the service of the community, this was efficiently rendered. In the church of which he was a member, as a Sabbath school teacher he taught the age-long truths in which he had great faith, when opportunity for such service was afforded him. As a friend and neighbor he was ever helpful, winning the respect and admiration of all who came to know him. In the home the goodly qualities of his manhood were especially manifest, as a loving husband and kind father. Here he sacrificed himself that others in the home might enjoy greater blessings. Thus he will be missed because his seat will be empty.
