Obituary: The death of Susan Hill from Sugar Creek items in The Miami Republican 26 Feb 1883, p.3, col. 3 and 4
Mrs. Susan Hill, living in this township, attempted suicide on the night of January 27th by taking a dose of Rough on Rats. The doctor was immediately sent for, but all to no avail, as the deadly potion had done its work. She lingered along for two weeks, a portion of the time in terrigle agony, when death came to her relief on the morning of Feb. 10. The deceased leaves the husband and two children, an aged mother and two brothers to mourn her loss.
Domestic troubles is the cause assigned for the deed. The sysmpathies of the entire community are with the afflicted ones.
Susan Mordica was born in 1858 in Boone County, MO, and died 10 Feb. 1883 in Sugar Creek Twp., Miami County, KS; buried at Rockville Cemetery.
