TAYLORSVILLE - Robert "Bob" Glenn Despain, age 62, passed away on October 28, 1988 at his home after a lingering illness.
Born on November 20, 1925 in Prescott, Arizona to Asael Oscar and Zaida Marguerite Goucher Despain. Married Nina Judkins September 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Veteran of the U.S. Navy in Word War II and the Korean War. Formerly employed at the Utah State Services for Visually Handicapped and Winder Dairy. He was an active member of the LDS Church, served in the Spanish Name Extraction Program for nine years and many other church callings. Noted for his beautiful tenor voice. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor.
Survived by his loving, devoted wife; son and daughters, Robert L. Despain, Mrs. Hans (Pam) Larson, Mrs Shanna lee Richmond, Mrs. John (Cindy) Krebs, Jr., Mrs. Bill (Kaylene Wayman, Mrs. Sheldon (Corinne) Izatt, 14 grandchildren all Salt Lake City; sisters, Mrs. Reed (Betty) Scott of Veyo, Utah; Mrs. Eldon (Marian) Shelley, Joseph City, Arizona; Mrs. Fred (Louise) Harvey, Mesa, Arizona. Preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, grandson and son-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., in the Taylorsville 8th Ward, 1945 West Tamarack (4565 South). Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Wednesday at the Church, one hour prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
