He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Cordova Barrera; two sons, John Raymond Barrera and Paul Anthony Barrera of Carlsbad; four daughters, Michelle Marie Barrera, Julie Christi Barrera, Stephanie Evette Barrera, and Valarie Nichole Barrera, all of Carlsbad; five brothers, Leo Pacheco, Artesia, Mike Barrera, Farmington, Louis Barrera, Artesia, Danny Barrera, Tennessee, and Manuel Barrera, Tennessee; two sisters, Rachel Pacheco, Tennessee, and Virginia Lucero, Roswell.

Mass will be said Thursday at 10 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. The Rev. Noel Cramer of San Jose Church will officiate. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Raymond Barrera, Manuel Barrera, Mario Medoza, Oscar Marquez, Jesus Mendoza, Louis Barrera and Alonzo Lopez.
