Frank X. Caron, 88, of Main Street died Sunday at Hillcrest Manor in Sanford. He was born in Ruminski, Quebec, a son of Arthur and Amanda (Laurent) Caron. He moved to the Sanford area as an infant and attended local schools.
He served as a captain in the Army during World War II. Mr. Caron was employed for many years by the former Allied Shoe Co. of Springvale in the lasting room. He retired in 1970.
His wife, Helen Croteau Caron, died in 1990.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.
He is survived by two sons, Roland E. of the Bahamas and Arthur H. of Springvale; a sister, Yvonne Gagnon of Rumford; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. (Portland Press Herald (2/5/1996)
