SHERRILL - Mariette J. Blaettler, age 88, of W. Noyes Blvd. passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 21, 2010 in the Oneida Extended Care Facility.
Mariette was born on Feb. 1, 1922 in Pepinster, Belgium, a daughter of the late Gean and Octiavie (Lestagnard) Altman and attended the Pepinster Schools.
On Dec. 16, 1946 Mariette and Walter J. Blaettler were united in marriage in Pepinster, Belgium and shared that loving union of over 55 years together until Walter's death on April 17, 2002.
Mariette was a member of St. Helena's Church of Sherrill. In her spare time she enjoyed caring for her family and her home and spending time working in her yard and flower gardens.
Surviving are her one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Charles Renninger of Oneida; two grandchildren, Aaron Miner of Sherrill and Cassandra Eaton of Oneida Castle; three great-grandchildren, Skyler and Alexandria Eaton and Madelyn Miner; one sister-in-law, Helen Roberts of Deansboro; three nephews, Christian (Margaret) Thomson of Oneida, Fred Roberts and Ken (Rita) Roberts all off Deansboro; two nieces, Marie Claire (Peter) Simchik of Port Orange, Fla. and Joan (Bob) Miller of Deansboro, as well as several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 in St. Helena's Church, Primo Ave., Sherrill. Spring burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Winfield, N.Y.
