Born in Sharon, on October 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Marian A. (Atwood) and Daniel L. Adams.
Mr. Adams proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Midway during WWII.
He worked as a welder at P.H. Glatfelter for 16 years. Mr. Adams was Police Chief in Jackson Township for many years and retired in 1982. He then worked as a supervisor for Schaad Detective Agency in York.
Mr. Adams was a longtime member of Christ Roth's Church in Spring Grove, where he served as a former president of the church council. He was also a member of the Pvt. Allen J. Beck VFW Post #5265 in Spring Grove, Shrewsbury Lodge #423 F&AM and the Jefferson Chapter #3699 AARP.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Edward L. Adams and wife, Terry of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Lory E. Hare and husband, David of Spring Grove; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Krauss of Ohio; and brother, Norman Adams of Florida.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Betty Thomas and Annamae Ruggerio.
He was to laid to rest at St. Paul Dubs Union Cemetery in Hanover with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
