Winifred M. (Scott) Austin, 69, of 14990 S. Helmer Road, died Saturday night in Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo after a long illness.
She was born in South Haven and moved to Battle Creek in 1943. She was a bookkeeper and retired from Battle Creek Tobacco & Candy Co. in 1978.
Her husband, Cleon W. Austin died in 1960.
She is survived by daughters Charlene Cuyler of Battle Cree, Janiel Esmeralda of La Quinta, Calif., Vernadeane Coffman Herman of Union City, Annette Tassell of Vicksburg and Rita Bowman of West Berlin, N.J.; brothers William Scott of Mission, Texas, and Harold Scott of Lowell; sisters Mary Boadway of Mission, Patricia Vissers of Florida and Helen Scott of Lowell: 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Vicksburg Bible Church. Memorial donations may be made to Battle Creek First Church of the Nazarene, the Vicksburg Bible Church or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Rupert-Durham Funeral Home, Vicksburg
