Mr. Kent died at 4 a.m. Wednesday in a Gorman hospital after an illness of 11 years.
He was born July 3, 1888, near Rising Star and married Ada Florence Bohannon Oct 13, 1927. at Carbon. They had lived in the Indian Mountains community until moving to Gorman in 1951. He was a retired farmer and World War I Veteran.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Twila Wallace of Gorman; three sons, Billy Kent of the Armed Forces in Ranger and Burt Ray Kent Jr., of Oldham; four sisters; two brothers and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Burt Ray Kent Sr., 76, of Gorman, brother of Mrs. J.W. Morris of Rising Star, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in First Methodist Church here with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
