Son of William & Ann (Goodale) Allen/Allin, he married Mary (Pike) Andros, daughter of Robert Pike and widow of Jedediah Andros, Aug. 1674 in Salisbury. He took the Oath of Allegiance and Fidelity in Dec., 1677 and became a feeman in 1690.
John Allen of Salisbury served under Capt. Turner in April, 1676 during the King Philip's war. He was a mariner and about to go on voyage to sea when he gave Mary his power of attorney in Sept., 1682. Lieut. John Allen was wounded by the French and Indians, July or Aug, 1691 at "Mequoit". He was also a witness in Susanna Martin's trial.
His will was written June 30, 1691 and proved April 14, 1697. His wife's nephew, William Carr, was to live with her until he was 18 yrs. of age. John Allen's brother, William Allen, and Jarvis Ring were appointed administrators of his estate in 1698.

2. Sarah b. Feb. 9, 1676-7, bpt. June 10, 1688, m. John Gordon or Goording of Exeter and perhaps (2) Benjamin Wentworth of Dover.

4. Mary b. Dec. 27, 1681, bpt. June 10, 1688, living in 1701, crippled., received 2/3 of the estate.
5. Hannah b. Oct. 22, 1686, bpt. June 10, 1688, living in 1698, prob. married Thomas Morrill
6. Ann b. Nov. 4, 1689, d. abt. 1691
