He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. Charles Arthur (Ducky) Cook served in the Korean war and retired from the local 540 plumbers and steamfitters of Newport News, Va. Left to cherish his memory are, wife, Jurlean (Jerri) Dunlow Rhea Cook of Dillwyn, Va., two sons, Charles Douglas (Nancy) Cook, and Dennis Dean (Angie) Cook of Smithfield, Va.; sisters, Marion Reese of Mathews, Va., Joyce Fitzgerald of Newport News, Va.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in Death by his son, David Allen Cook; his brother, George E. Cook; and his father, George E. Cook; and his mother, Rever C. Rowe Cook.
Visitation will be held at Dunkum Funeral Home, 16923 Oak St, Dillwyn, VA 23936, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services and Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at New Store Presbyterian Church 230 New Store Rd., Dillwyn, VA 23936. With the Rev. Quincy Worthington from New Store Presbyterian Church and Chaplin Alvin M. Downs from the Veterans Hospital officiating.
