Jasper Marriage Licenses

JASPER, Aug. 26. - (Special) - County Clerk Oscar Schwenk issued three marriage licenses today to the following persons: Valentine J. Beyke and Ida M. Kitten, both of Ferdinand.

Centurion, Valentine J. Beyke, 100, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion. Valentine was born February 14, 1906 in Lawrence, Nebraska to John & Annie (Krebsbach) Beyke.

Valentine attended Lawrence school. He moved to Ferdinand, Indiana and worked in the family business, Ferdinand Iron Works. On September 6, 1927, he married Ida Marie Kitten in Ferdinand, Indiana. They moved to Pauline, Nebraska, where he began farming. After retiring from the farm, he moved into Hastings and worked for Fleming Manufacturing in Hastings. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Valentine was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ida, sisters, Florentine Jacobs and Mary Alice Harig, brother Oliver Beyke, grandson, David Beyke and great grandson, Travis Black.
