Fulton Daily Sun Gazette-1969:

Eleven Fulton area seniors were awarded Bachelor of Arts Degrees on Sunday during Westminster College's 118th consecutive baccalaureate and commencement exercises. Among those receiving Bachelor Degrees was John R. Rootes, son of Mrs. F.M. (Maurine) Rootes and the late Francie Minor Rootes.

Missouri Telegraph-1921:

The Fulton businessmen who so throughly enjoy camping and spending their nights in the open country included their wives in the party when they had a big supper at Bellamy Springs Tuesday night.
A big feed was prepared and arrangements had been made for everyone not only get enough to eat but to have a good time.

The party included Mr. and Mrs. Francis Minor Rootes who were present when mess was called along with a large amount of others.

Fulton Gazette-1918:

Sergeant Francis Minor Rootes, of this city, who has been studying for a commission at the Officer's Training camp at Cap Taylor, Louisville, Kentucky, returned home Friday. He says that the men in the camp are given their choice of remaining and completing the course or returning to civilian life, but since the cessation of hostilities has taken all the "pep" out of the work of an officer's training, most who are returning home.

Sergeant Rootes is the first soldier from Fulton who has been active in the service to return home since the demobilization began. He probably will resume his former position with the Fulton real estate agency.

Fulton Gazette-1917:

Not satisfied with eliminating J.H. Atkinson on the first round of games in the golf tournament of the Fulton Country Club, Francis Rootes eliminated N.T. Cave. With Rootes, Cave and Atkinson are considered the best players in the club. Rootes still has formidable competition in the tournament in the person of W.B. Harris, who has the low record in number of strokes for the eighteen holes.
