Services for Mrs. Hettie Mae Brown, 78, of Rt. 7, Lufkin, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edmund Gray officiating and interment in Walker Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown died Tuesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 16, 1894, in Nacogdoches County and had resided in Lufkin since 1932. She was a member of the Davisville Baptist Church.
Survivors: husband, W. I.; three daughters, Mrs. John D. McGuire and Mrs. Pansy Joplin, both of Lufkin, Mrs. J. C. Basham of Pollok; two sons, Willie James of Beaumont, Dan of Martinsville; sister, Mrs. J. W. Lingo of Orange; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
