The death of Mrs. John F. Murphy took place at there home, 354 South Franklin street. Saturday morning after a lingering illness of cancer during the past two years.
Mary was the daughter of John Kelley and Ester Blue. She was born in Scotland on April 26, 1850.
Emigrated with Son John age 2, and infant daughter Ester from Glasgow, Scotland on 9-7-1874.
Mrs. Murphy resided in Plymouth for a number of years where she had many friends . For the past five years she resided in this city. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and an active participant in many important features of the work of the church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband John age 39, son John, between age 2-8, and daughter Susan Murphy Barney, age 17.
She is survived by seven daughters; Mrs. Samuel J. Conners of Scranton, Mrs. B. C. Snyder of Philadelphia, Mrs. John Williamson and Mrs. James Ash of Wilkes-Barre, Mary Rosa and Verna at home; also by one son, Felix Murphy, of Pueblo, Col.
