Joseph J. Rogers was born in Helena, Searcy Twp, Phillips County, Arkansas
in December of 1869. He was the son and second child of Joseph Rogers and
Nancy Julia Elmira Berry.


Joseph joined the Rough Riders and was wounded at San Juan Hill, Cuba, July 1, 1898,
Shot in the abdomen and arm with a Mauser rifle.
Joseph J. Rogers joined the first time on 14 MAY 1898 in Muscogee, Indian Territory.
He lived 85 miles away in Sapulpa, I T (OK)
Joseph enlisted in Joplin, MO on 05 APR 1899 re-enlisted six moths later after he healed.
