Dies Suddenly At Monticello

Montieello, Aug. 24.—Thad-
eus E. Hanway, 78, well known
retired business man,died at his
home on North Main street after
a lingering illness with heart
trouble at 3:10 o'clock Tuesday
morning.
He was horn May 18, 1859, in
Lexington, Ky., the son of Thadeus
and Elizabeth Hanway, and
came with his parents when 2
years of age to White county
where he has resided since in
Norway and Monticello.
Surviving are the widow, three
daughters, Mrs. C. D. Dwyer,
Monticelio, Mrs, Otto Nelson.
Chicago, and Mrs. C. W. Kent,
Frederick, Md., and one son,
Herbert, of Monon. Fifteen
grandchildren also survive.
The body was prepared for
b u r i a l at the Small funeral home
and returned to the family home
Tuesday afternoon, where funeral
services will be held at 2
o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev.
M. A. Madsen officiating. Burial
will be in Riverview cemetery.

eus E. Hanway, 78, well known
retired business man,died at his
home on North Main street after
