Genevie Clara Genevie Clara Reck, 82, of Echo Township, Antrim County, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1983, at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital following a long illness. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Home. Rev. R. E. Derby and Rev. Estel Clark will officiate. Interment will be in Densmore Cemetery, Echo Township. The former Genevie Clara Goss was born Aug. 6, 1901, in Cedarville, the daughter of Mathew and Minnie (Larson) Goss. She resided in Echo Reck, 82 Township as a child and had lived in Chicago and Detroit, moving back to Echo Township in 1958. Her husband, Henry Reck, died in 1960. Mrs. Reck is survived by five brothers, Walter Petrie and Rodney Petrie, both of East Jordan, Rex Petrie of Echo Township, Harold Petrie of Berkley and Dale Petrie of Central Lake; one sister, Mrs. Gordon (Sally) Phillips of East Jordan; several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the Antrim County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Envelopes for that purpose are available at Mortensen Funeral Home.
