Daughter of the late Sisto and Carmella Fondacarol Vinci, she was born in Haverstraw on March 30, 1924. Clara was the widow of Stephen Heitczman.
She was a retired Supervisor for Modern Filters, Inc. in West Haverstraw. After moving from West Haverstraw, she and her husband lived in Highland Falls for 18 years prior to moving to Monroe. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw, Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls and most recently, Sacred Heart Church in Monroe.
She is survived by her sons: Stephen Heitczman and his wife, Mary Joan of Monroe, Carmen Heitczman and his wife, Joan of Monroe, Thomas Goda and his wife, Terri of South Plainfield, NJ; her daughter, Mary Gallagher and her husband, Joseph of Highland Falls; sister, Katie Pileggi of West Haverstraw; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, especially Anthony Ficucello of New burgh. She was predeceased by a son, Edward Heitczman.
Clara will forever be remembered as "Nanny", a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thurday December 16 at Smith, Seaman and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 17, at Sacred Heart Church in Monroe. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Goshen. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
