Charles was born February 10, 1917 in Cass County, MO, the son of Clarence and Gladys (Barnard) Arnold. He married Mae Zumalt on December 5, 1936 in Harrisonville, MO. Charles worked for Ford Motor Company in Claycomo before retiring. He also farmed in Higginsville. He was with the Merchant Marines. He was involved in the RLDS Church and was an ordained minister. Charles enjoyed going to antique tractor shows and reading.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alleen Hays and one great-grandson, Christian Lee Morris. He is survived by his wife, Mae, of the home; two sons, Charles "Chuck" E. Arnold and his wife, Rebecca, Excelsior Springs, MO and Jim Arnold and his wife, Janice, Orrick, MO; one sister, Virginia Brown and her husband, Harold, Brownsville, KS; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly K. Tournoy, Dennis W. Arnold, Matthew W. Arnold, Christine L. Stephens and Sean Morris; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
