Reburial services will be conducted here Tuesday for Pfc. James Bessling Cannon, who was killed in action in Belgium.
He was born here January 21, 1926, the son of the late Jim Cannon and Mrs. May Bessling Cannon. After his graduation from Mexia High School in 1943, he was a pre-medical student at the University of Texas.
After entering the service on June 14, 1944, Cannon received training in the Air Corps and Infantry. He went overseas January 1, 1945, and was in the medical detachment when he was killed while rescuing a wounded German. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
Services will be conducted in the family residence here and reburial will be in Mexia City Cemetery.
