Thomas E. WAITE, 86, Granger, died Friday morning at South Bend Memorial hospital after a 10-day illness. He formerly resided in Akron, moving to Granger 27 years ago.
Born April 15, 1875, in Miami county, he was married in 1896 to Bess DAVIS, who died in 1928. His second marriage was Feb. 4, 1950 to Thelma DAVIS, who survives. Mr. Waite was a member of the Akron Methodist church.
Also surviving are a daugher, Mrs. A. D. SHEWMAN, Mishawaka; one son, Charles [WAITE], Silver Lake; one sister, Mrs. Mary CAPLE, Warren; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Last rites will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Bubb funeral home with the Rev. Arnold SCHAAP officiating. Burial will be in the Akron I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
