She was 74, born in Allendale, IL, on November 5, 1931, she was the daughter of Edwin Winter and Thelma McFarland. She married Robert S. Brooks and he survives. She was a housewife.

Survivors include her husband of Olney; one daughter, Cindy Sechrest and husband Dean of Bridgeport; three sons, Robert Pixley of West Salem, Wayne Pixley and wife Paulette of Olney and Art Pixley of West Salem; one step-daughter, Linda Fortney of Bloomington, IL; three step-sons, Robert Jr. Brooks of Bloomington, Russell Brooks of Pontiac and Scott Brooks of Olney; two sisters, Beulah Rigg of Vincennes, IN and Ruth Ann Castle of St. Joe; one brother, Junior Winter of Dillsburg, PA; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be held Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the Allendale Cemetery, Allendale, IL, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation was held Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport, IL.
