Nancy was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Rock Island, Ill., the daughter of Raymond F. and Ada E. Rauch Mayfield. She married Hal Stuart Sandidge in June of 1960, in Rock Island County, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Nancy graduated from Rock Island High School in 1957. She worked as a laborer for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline at the Cimic and Glenarm stations. She was the first female laborer for the company. Nancy was a former member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Luanne (husband, Matthew), of Pawnee; a son, Michael E. (companion, Stephanie) of Auburn; two step-sons, Gary L. Sandidge of Springfield and Bobby L. Sandidge of Petersburg; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Nancy's family will meet friends Sunday, Dec. 19, from 12 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. Rev. Florene Scott will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Memorial Contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to the American Cancer Society .
