Carthage Soldier Killed in Action
Carthage, Mo., Jan. 18. - Sergeant William M. Narramore, 21 year old, was killed in action January 5 in France, according to information received tonight by his parents, Mr.a nd Mrs. C. A. Narramore, 904 Olive Street, from the war department. Sergeant Narramore entered the army April 3, 1943, and had been overseas since August. He was graduated from Carthage high school in 1941. Carthage, Mo., Oct. 25. - The body of Staff Sergeant William Robert Narramore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Narramore, 904 Olive street, who was killed in 1945 in the European theater, arrived today in New York to be returned to Carthage for burial. The Carthage young man was a member of the Eighth air force of the army and was killed in a mission over Germany. His body will be sent first to the Kansas City army quartermaster depot and then will be sent to Carthage for reburial. The body willb e received by the Knell mortuary. Carthage, Mo., 20. - The body of Sergeant William R. Narramore, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde A. Narramore, 904 Olive street, is scheduled to arrive here Friday from the European war theater for reburial. It will be received by the Knell mortuary. Sergeant Narramore was a tail gunner aboard a B-24 bomber shot down over Belgium January 5, 1945. He served with the ninth air force and had been overseas since August, 1944, when he was killed.
