"William H. Ruggles. Jefferson, Nov. 25 - (Special.) - William H. Ruggles, a former partner of the late Judge Woodbury and one of the older members of the local bar, died of heart disease this morning with scarcely a moment's warning. He was born in Onondaga county, N.Y., in 1836, and came to this county in early life. He read law with Simonds & Cadwell and was admitted to the bar in September, 1859.
The funeral will occur Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock under the direction of the Masonic fraternity, of which order Mr. Ruggles was an honored member.
Judge Howland called a meeting of the bar this forenoon, when Judges Wade, Cadwell and ex-Mayor A.C. White were appointed a committee on resolutions."
