Armine, age 88, was born in Peacock, Texas and attended the Salvation Army Training College in San Francisco. She was stationed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor from 1939-1942. There she met her late husband, Howard Edward Buntz. The couple moved to the States and eventually Hanford, which became her home until 1988. Her ailing health brought her to the Bradley area in 1997 to be with family. Armine enjoyed sewing, cooking and playing dominos. Her son, Edward, graduated from West Point in 1972. Among her activities in the United Methodist Church, she had served as career planning chairman on the Administrative Board in the 1980's. She was survived by a son, Ed Buntz of Bradley; a daughter, Janet Hardcastle; two brothers and three sisters, including Earl Irby and Ruth Yarbrough. Her daughter Cynthia Webster died in 1984. After her death, Armine took care of her grandchildren. Her husband died in 1979.
