PHILIPSBURG - Funearla services for Harry J. Goss, 90, who died Wednesday at Bellefonte will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Beezer Funeral Home at Philipsburg. The Rev. Stratford C. Taylor will officiate and burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Mr. Goss was born at West Decatur Oct. 28, 1871, a son of Abram and Isabelle (Smeal) Goss. He was a longtime resident of Philipsburg where he followed his occupation as a gun and locksmith.
He was a 50-year member of the Philipsburg-Moshannon Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons, No. 391 and a life member of the Philipsburg B.P.O Elks No. 1173. Mr. Goss was actively interested in the volunteer firemen's organizations, being a member of the Reliance Fire Company No. 1 of Philipsburg, the Philipsburg Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association and the Volunteer Firemen's Association of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by two sons, Houston Goss of Trona, Calif., and Gerald Goss, also in California. He also leaves three grandchildren, two nieces and a great-nephew.
Friends are being received at the Beezer Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. and until the hour of service Saturday.
Masonic memorial services will be held Friday at 7 30 p. m. followed by Elks memorial services at 8:15 o'clock.
