Frank is listed in the 1850 and 1860 Federal Census as the son of Michael Huss and his wife, Elizabeth. In September 1869, a Susana Huss and her infant son Michael died. Susana is listed in the Rosedale Cemetery in Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas as the wife of Michael Huss. Another researcher believes that this Susana and the Elizabeth listed in the earlier census records is the same person as they were the same age and both from Prussia. I haven't found any other records that might confirm this. Michael Huss is listed as a widower in the 1870 Census, with Frank and two young children, Daniel age 4 and Mary age 2, in the household. Most records show their last name spelled Huss, but in later years, Frank is recorded as using Hus and his cemetery record reflects that. Frank lived most of his life in Rush, Rooks County, Kansas, engaged in farming. He never married.
