Born in Blackshear, GA on July 31, 1924, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. Mr. Morgan was a self-employed welder and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to fish and enjoyed working in his garden.
He was a son of the late John Allen & Allie Mae Taylor Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lavenia Dixon Morgan; an infant daughter, Joan Morgan; both of his sons, Jimmy Morgan and David Morgan; two grandchildren, Katie Sweat and Jamie Morgan; and three brothers, A. J. Morgan, Ancil Morgan, and J. Hugh Morgan.
Survivors include his daughter, Wanelle Dixon Morgan, husband Joe, of Patterson; 3 grandchildren, Cory Morgan, Christie Morgan Aspinwall, and Cody Morgan, wife Lyndsi; 5 great grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Helena Sweat, Emily Chappelear, Amelia “Millie” Morgan,and Kyleigh Morgan; a great great grandchild, Layla Jane McKenzie; and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Morgan will be held at 11:00 o’clock Thursday morning, December 17, 2015, at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Ramah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock Wednesday evening, December 16, 2015, at the funeral home.
