John S. Greenfield, farmer, died very suddenly at his home near Kamrar Monday morning at 9:30, following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 1:30 at the Becker funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church near Kamrar. The Rev. Harold DeVries will officiate and burial will be in the Presbyterian cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Arland Greenfield, Donald Greenfield, Merlin Arends, Roy Greenfield, Harold Greenfield and Elton Huisman.
John S. Greenfield, son of Simon T. and Jane [Janna] Greenfield, was born Sept. 5, 1909, near Kamrar, Iowa, and died Sept. 28, 1959, at Kamrar, at the age of 50 years and 23 days. In his boyhood days he attended rural school near Kamrar.
He was married to Lillian Vandeventer on Dec. 8, 1931, at Jewell, Iowa, and the couple farmed in the Kamrar community ever since. Six children were born to this union, one child died in infancy.
He is survived by his wife; five children, Mrs. Darrell (Evelyn) Klaver of Kamrar; Jane, John, Stuart and Gene, all of Kamrar; three brothers, James, William and Arend Greenfield, all of Kamrar; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Lena) Huisman of Titonka and Mrs. William (Harmka) Arends of Jewell.
Mr. Greenfield was a member of the First Presbyterian church at Kamrar.
