Kenneth was struck by his own car which had been struck by a train. He worked as fireman in Upper Peninsula sawmills for most his life. He moved to Grand Rapids and worked 13 years as a fireman at St. Mary's until his retirement in 1958.
Grandville police said Kent was injured when his car went off old M21 and lodged on the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad tracks. Kent attempted to flag down an approaching 90 car freight train but the train couldn't stop in the time. It struck Kent's car which then struck him.
