On this last Tuesday morning this estimable and aged lady of Wallaceton fell asleep environed by the stillness of the early hours and the darkness to mortal eyes, the while her inner sight beheld the radiance of the bright and uprising star, and her spirit interpreted "songs in the night" as the choirs melodies from heaven. Hers was a choice spirit. With her patience was indeed a virtue amidst the peculiar uncertainties of life and the recurrent thrusts of bodily suffering. She had for many years been a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Wallaceton. The funeral service was conducted on Thursday afternoon by her pastor Rev. Franklin A Lawson after which interment was made in Philipsburg.
Mrs. Shugert was born near Blue Ball and spent the whole of her life xxxx of that place. She was the daughter of David and Eliza Flegal xxxxx she was united in marriage to Aaron James Shugert who entered the Valley of the Sheep some seventeen years ago, leaving her to the mercy of the them xxxx years, years freighted with suffering, with her chief requisite for the enforced task an abundant faith in the Heavenly Father and the memory of a great love.
She is survived by four brothers, George, Alexander and Andrew of Philipsburg, and Frank of Brighton, N.J. Also by nine children, Harry of Morrisdale; David and Aaron of Altoona, Wallace of Blue Ball; Walter of Huntingdon, PA; Charles of Clearfield; Mrs. William S (Carrie) Bressler, Mrs. William (Ruth) English, and Mrs. Xxxx (Lida) Guthrie of Wallaceton. XXXX while twenty five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren rise up to call her blessed.
