Richard A. 'Dick' Barr, Sr., 69, Altoona, died Mon., Dec. 13, 2010 at home. He was born in Altoona to Clyde H., Sr. & Mary (Thomas) Barr. He married Darlene E. Dreese on March 7, 1960, in Winchester, Va. Survived by wife; son, Richard A., Jr. & wife, Cindy, of Sinking Valley; daughters: Lisa K. Crabtree & husband, Gary, Jr., of Tyrone and Dawn R. Mayhue & husband, Rodney, of Altoona; 6 grandchildren: Kristen McNelis, Lindsey Conlon, Shane Barr, Karrie DelGrosso and Joshua and Richard Crabtree; 3 gr. grandchildren: Lily McNelis, Brendan McNelis and Avery Conlon; and siblings: Clyde, Jr.; Robert; Harold; Barbara Jerosky and Joy Lumadue. Predeceased by sister, Shirley Harpster. He was the owner and operator of Barr's Auto Electric for 27 years. He was a member of Fourth Lutheran Church. He started the Lighthouse Ministry in 1997. He also was involved with the Adult Rehabilitation Center of the Salvation Army, taught God's Lambs (special needs people) and worked at youth camps as a counselor. He was an ordained minister.
