Mrs Henry Stroh, who made her home with her son-in=law and daughter, Mr and Mrs R. L. Brown, 314 South Vine Street, died at 11:15 o'clock, last night at a local hospital. Taken ill about a month ago and failing to respond to surgical treatment, Mrs Stoh submitted to surgery a week ago. Pneumonia was the direct cause of death
Mary Barbara Wagner was born in Frank, Russia, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Andres Wagner. She grew to womanhood there and in 1886 was united in marriage to Henry Stroh. Mr and Mrs Stroh made their home in Frank, Russia until coming to America in October of 1912. They came directly to Grand Island and except for a short period in Council Bluffs, IA, Grand Island had been her only residence. Since the passing of Mr Stroh, some years ago, Mrs Stroh had made her home with her children, last residing with Mr and Mrs Brown.
Surviving are a son Henry Stroh, and a daughter Mrs R. L. Brown, both of this city; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs Stroh was baptized and confirmed in the German Lutheran Faith and was a member of Pilgrim's Congregational church. Funeral services will be held at the church, Thursday afternoon, at two o'clock. Interment will be in the family space in Grand Island Cemetery.
Friends may view the body at the home of her son Henry Stroh, 327 South Oak Street, Wednesday evening between the hours of seven and nine o'clock
