Sadler, Flora Elizabeth [Trent] 1874-1959 Obituary:

Flora Elizabeth Sadler, daughter of Charles G. and Flora Selinda Trent was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa, April 13, 1874, and departed this life April 10, 1959, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 27 days at Concordia, Kansas. Her mother having passed away at the time of her birth, she was taken to the home of her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Parker who resided in Michigan.

The Parkers, moved from Michigan to Kansas in 1879, locating at Highland, Kansas. Here she attended the Highland schools and grew to young womanhood. On September 7, 1891, she was unted in marriage to Elmer B. McDaniel, at Highland Kansas.

To this union were born five children, Gladys, Grace, Elsie, Mamie and Trent. The early part of her married life was spent at Randall, Kansas, later moving to a farm in Norton county.

In 1902 she returned to Randall, and on November 3, 1902, she was married to Elmer A. Sadler. To this union were born three children, Willis, Glenn and Lura. Mrs. Sadler's intense desire was to have her sons finish their eduation and she worked at various tasks helping to make this possible.

She maintained her home in Randall until, due to ill health, she was moved to the home of her daugher, Mrs. Ed Slattery, (Mamie) of Jewell Kansas, where she remained for five years. In 1957 she became bedfast and was taken to the Hansen Nursing Home in Concordia were she passed away.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Sadler, a son Trent McDaniel, three daughters, Gladys in infancy, Grace Mears and Elsie Newman.

Mrs. Sadler leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs. Ed Slattery and son-in-law Ed Slattery, and Mrs. Charley Marsh, Auburn, California; two sons, Willis A. Sadler and daughrer-in-law Evelyn, Salinas, California, Glenn Sadler, and daughter-in-law Lucile, of Clay Center, Kansas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and othe relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Randall, Monday, April 13, Rev. Harley Sider officiating. Burial was in the Randall cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Perry Stinson and Mrs. Bob Shelton with Mrs. Gerald Cash accompanist. Relatives here from a distance for the serices were: Mrs. and Mrs. Vaugh Darling, Wichita, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Belin, Green and Mrs. and Mrs. Fred McDaniel, Wichita.
